Disco King joins BJP after Disco Dancer in TMC

Bappi Da to don the political hat!

Now if BJP comes to power in the upcoming polls, there will not be any shortage of gold reserves for India, literally so giving rise to a new economic dawn in India. Jokes apart, the Disco King Bappi Lahiri has officially announced his decision to join the saffron party on Friday and it is buzzed that BJP may field him as a Lok Sabha candidate from West Bengal. If people are swayed by Bappi Da’s “Ooh la la”, there’s something more in store to divulge. The Golden Man says that he finalized his decision to join BJP after getting waved away by the NaMo magic.

The State BJP president of West Bengal, Rahul Sinha said that 2 to 3 possible Lok Sabha seats in Bengal have already been suggested to Lahiri. He added that there would be good response in the state, Bappi Lahiri being an eminent personality. This move came after Filmstar Mithun Chakrabarty has recently joined TMC, the ruling party in West Bengal at present. But even after pursuation, he refused to reveal the names of the suggested seats. Sinha also said that they were very eager and looking forward to  Bappi Lahiri contesting the Lok Sabha poll from the state of West Bengal.

Lahiri had earlier composed a song for the Congress and went to the extent of announcing in 2004 that he had plans to campaign for the party. But with Congress riding a flank of doldrums in the past 1 year, he has eventually changed his idea, mind and eventually, the side to switch his favour for Bharatiya Janata Party.  Lahiri admits that Narendra Modi’s charisma has smittened him which is one of the many reasons of him joining the party.

He says, “The best part about the BJP is that they have assured me that I will be given a free hand when it comes to working for the janta”.  Now it remains to be seen whether BJP can strengthen its poor vote bank in West Bengal with such a figure joining the party in the state.
