Amethi SDM rejects Rahul Gandhi’s application to grant him residential proof
In an interesting turn of events at Amethi constituency, which will give another opportunity to opposing parties to continue their strong criticism of the Congress Vice-President, Rahul Gandhi was denied a residential proof by the SDM of Amethi.
The Congress apparent Prime Ministerial nominee had sent a lawyer on his behalf to submit the application but din’t provide any supporting documents alongwith, according to the Divisional Magistrate.
This has paved the way for AAP’s Kumar Vishwas and BJP candidate Smriti Irani to launch another of their attacks on the young Gandhi. Vishwas had even gone to the extent of challenging Gandhi to name all the blocks in the constituency and bet his candidature from Amethi on it.

Assam CM Gogoi warns the electorate, says corporates will rule the nation if Modi comes to power
Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, in a addressing at Guwahati, accused his Gujarat counterpart of having corporate backing and claimed that the corporate houses will be ruling the nation if he comes to power in the Centre.
“If Modi becomes prime minister, big corporates will be behind him. It will be a kind of corporate rule from back door, just like what happens in American democracy. It is going to be the most dangerous thing to Indian democracy,” Gogoi told reporters in Guwahati.
The Assam CM also highlighted about the strong similarity in ideology between the BJP and the RSS predicting complete autocracy if the opposition win the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls this year.
In a continued attack on BJP’s PM candidate, Gogoi brought to focus how Modi has been traveling around the country in a private jet and accused him of having corporate sponsorship. “His PR is being handled by an American company. His waistcoat, hairstyle, shoes, spectacles – everything is by designers. All of these are sponsored by corporates,” he said.
