A few days before the first phase of 2014 General Elections kick starts, the Telengana Desam Party has reorganized it’s alliance with the NDA . This move is important in more ways than one. Apart from the fact that this will boost the NDA’s vote bank in the Seemandhara region, thanks to the TDP’s potent presence there, it also marks the return of Naidu in to the NDA fold, after he parted ways in 2004.

“Narendra Modi will lead the NDA to over 300 seats in the Lok Sabha elections,” Naidu told reporters after announcing the alliance.

A few days after the Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid, Syed Ahmed bukhari, announced his support for the Congress in the upcoming General Elections , his brother Tarik Bhukhari sent across a strong message to the ruling party today. In an interview Tarik said that although Congress is a poor choice, they are the only choice for the Muslims across the country, having shown signs of secularism. However, he made it very clear that this choice or rather support is completely based out of compulsion and not out of inclination.

 

Amit Shah booked for controversial remark

BJP General Secretary, Amit Shah, was booked on Sunday for making controversial comments  in the lead up to the General Elections. He had infamously remarked that revenge for the loss in the Muzzafarpur elections last time will be taken. Mulayam Singh Yadav said that anyone trying to bring about disturbance in UP will not be let go off.

“Why only Amit Shah, action will be taken against anyone who is out to destroy the social fabric of the state,” he added.
